A super thin maraging steel crown, weighing only seven grams, lowers the CG for effortless ball trajectory. The thin face is brazed rather than welded onto the body through a patented process so as not to damage the edges which are thinned out to maximize the trampoline effect. The sound and feel are unmatched.
Since Jesse Ortiz believes that hybrids should be designed to replace long irons, not fairway woods, our design incorporates the ability to adjust your lie angle...just like your irons. (READ: Why Is Lie Angle Important to Your Hybrid Game?) All face angles are square which is best suited for maximum versatility in all conditions, however, you can adjust the lie angle from standard, to two degrees upright to two degrees flat...exactly as you would your irons...for the best results.
The hybrids feature the same luxurious, Lexus pearl finish and Graphite Design's new premium G-Series shafts.
18 degrees----2 iron replacement

Nothing beats Jesse Ortiz's hybrids in terms of playability, ease, forgiveness and consistency (for me) -- if you want a club that feels great at contact and launches well with distance, search no more. I've played Titleist, Taylormade, and Callaway but the Bobby Jones is in my bag. I've found consistent performance with Ortiz's hybrids over major OEMs. I began with the 25 and 30 hybrids and later added the 21. If you have issues with your 6i, try the 30 Hy - it gets in the air easily and will go where aimed. Jesse mates a Graphite Design "lighter" version of the G Series and it works well in his hybrids. As to the shape, the lighter color makes is seems larger, giving you confidence. The rounded sole makes the club more playable from the rough and bunkers - it is a true rescue club, as well as offering ease from the fairway and off the tee. The club has a sold sound - it is satisfying with a "hot" feel. The ball launches high yet penetrates well - higher than a comparable iron but lower than a fairway. I've found these clubs hit the green and settle well - exactly what you want. After I was accustomed to the 30 Hy, I purchased the 25 - I was pleased with it, and decided to go with the 21 to replace the 3i. I was concerned because I have consistency issues with other OEM brands in 21 degree hybrids but I found a pleasing consistency with the Bobby Jones 21 - the club launches well - a bit lower than a 7 wood, which is expected. In the wind, this club is invaluable because of the mid-high yet piercing trajectory. Jesse continues to make clubs that perform for all levels of players and allows them a rarity in golf -- a smile.
I recently purchased the 30 degree hybrid. The main two things I was looking for in this club were forgiveness and "confidence" every time I picked it up. I was not let down. I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's so I have found when I trust the club I use, I'm symptom free when I hit the ball. Thanks to Jesse and all the folks at Bobby Jones to allow me to enjoy golf again!
